Wiki

The term wiki refers to a website whose content can be read and edited directly by site visitors. It is a collection of knowledge and experience where authors can add to or change texts or media. Content is systematically categorised or tags are assigned so that it can be easily found again. For quality assurance of the entries, a check by others can be set up.

The main function of a wiki is the editing mode of the content and not the layout or design of the website. Anyone should be able to edit it quickly and easily on the website without much knowledge.

Wikis can be made publicly available on the Word Wide Web, but also in local networks, for specific user groups or locally on a PC.

In addition, user groups can be assigned limited rights, such as read access.
