Meal flat rates, or also food supply additional expenditure mentioned, describes additionally costs, which a person has to carry, if this is active for operational reasons outside of its domicile or its actual job. These work-related costs, or travel expenses, can be claimed as business expenses or income-related expenses (travel expense report).

There are different flat rates for business trips in Germany and abroad and depending on the duration of the external activity.
